I vacationed in a most glorious beachside room.
Blue & white perfection, with billowy floral curtains
fresh flowers on the table and even a gas fireplace for a little bit of warmth and ambiance
to mix with the smell of fresh ocean air.
Have you ever stayed somewhere while on holiday
that just fit you just perfectly?
From the outdoor areas and fountain
to the french doors and private patios
to the assortment of wine & cheese served as a treat in the evenings.
The Inn at Depot Hill in Capitola, California
is a place I could move into and be pretty darn happy.
It is just steps from the beach and the heart of the coastal town
Capitola is a charming little beach town with colorful little houses, rows of palm trees
and lots of California flavor.
And an abundance of sunshine, fresh air and sandy beach –
which is where you will find me with my toes in the sand.
We have been coming to a little treasure in Capitola for several years now
and I fell in absolute love with it the first time we stayed here.
The Inn at Depot Hill
The Inn is actually a historic building and was once the train station (or Depot)
and is now a charming B&B with 12 different themed rooms.
I definitely have a few favorite rooms- but
I also had the chance to peek in a couple of the other rooms while there this time.
The Red Baron Room
is a dramatic style room with deep red walls and a private balcony
and the Kyoto room has a private bamboo garden and minimalist style.
This time, we stayed in a favorite room ~
The Delft room.
So many things to love about this room.
plush feather beds,
vintage pieces mingling with newer pieces.
It is amazing.
One of my favorite things about the rooms at the Inn at Depot Hill
are that they have fireplaces and plenty of room to relax- indoors and out.
Every detail is gorgeous
The bathroom even has charming blue and white incorporated.
Since the Inn at Depot Hill is a bed & breakfast… so let’s talk about the food.
There is something so indulgent about having food brought right to your room.
This was the most incredible almond french toast I have ever tasted…
After a day at the beach, we relaxed that evening,
and enjoyed wine and cheese and a soak in a jacuzzi tub on the private patio
(Can I just say, pretty sure I need this at my house.)
The next morning,
another amazing breakfast and this time we brought it outdoors to the patio.
